When we use tape at home, we usually consider it successful if it sticks.
An adhesive inside a display has a much more demanding job. It must hold components together without making the image look cloudy. It must transmit light without creating excessive scattering. In a foldable device, it must also accommodate repeated deformation.
Heat, humidity, long-term use, peeling during processing, and rework can all matter as well.
That is why OCA cannot be judged by adhesion strength alone. Optical properties, viscoelastic behavior, interfacial behavior, and process compatibility have to work together.
