VisCure Inc., a resident company of the Chungnam National University Business Incubation Center, is a startup targeting the display market with its eco-friendly adhesive technology.
◇ The Beginning of the Startup … A Spark Ignited by a Professor’s Remark
During his undergraduate years, CEO Seokju Lee met numerous entrepreneurs through his work as a student reporter, which inspired him to dream of launching his own business.
However, he chose to pursue graduate studies in order to focus on research, and his entrepreneurial ambitions seemed to drift further away.
That changed when his academic advisor asked him, “Why don’t you try starting a company?” That single remark reignited his passion for entrepreneurship and ultimately led to the founding of VisCure.
◇ “Challenge Without Fear” … The Core Value of VisCure
The most important value VisCure pursues is a willingness to take on challenges without fear.
As is common with startups, the company faces new problems at every turn, but Lee emphasizes that “even in fearful and difficult situations, growth comes from confronting challenges head-on and pushing forward.”
The company’s management principle is also built on fast decision-making.
He added, “We strive to make the most of a startup’s strength—delivering results quickly and decisively.”

◇ Innovating the Market with Eco-Friendly Visible-Light Adhesives
VisCure’s flagship product is an adhesive used to bond internal layers in displays.
Unlike conventional adhesives, which are typically manufactured using ultraviolet light or heat, VisCure differentiates itself through an eco-friendly process that uses visible light and enables advanced functional properties.
This approach also makes it possible to incorporate UV-blocking functionality, which has been difficult to achieve with conventional adhesives.
CEO Seokju Lee explained, “As displays become thinner and more integrated, the industry is moving toward technologies that can deliver multiple functions within a single layer, and our technology is well aligned with that trend.”
◇ Potential Proven Through Awards and Achievements
Since its founding, VisCure has received multiple awards, demonstrating its growth potential.
Among the most notable are the Grand Prize at the Samsung Display Industry–Academia Collaboration Paper Competition and other major demo day awards.
In addition, the company has validated the practical applicability of its technology through tangible achievements such as a PoC project with LG Display and a collaboration with Chokwang Paint facilitated through the Chungnam National University Business Incubation Center.

◇ A Collaboration Project Connected by the Chungnam National University Business Incubation Center
Lee said, “Because I had many meetings in Daejeon, I naturally came to know about the Chungnam National University Business Incubation Center,” adding, “We received tremendous support through the various programs and collaboration opportunities introduced by the center.”
He especially emphasized that the collaboration with Chokwang Paint was made possible thanks to the center’s support and connection.
◇ Steps Toward Commercialization Within One to Two Years
VisCure aims to see its newly developed adhesive applied in the actual market within the next one to two years.
In the long term, the company seeks to grow into a high-performance materials solutions provider centered on the redesign of polymer synthesis, with applications extending beyond displays into industries such as automotive and semiconductors.
Lee stated, “Through joint development with global customers, portfolio expansion, and the provision of tailored solutions, we aim to achieve both innovation and sustainability at the same time.”
